The Epson GT-15000 is a refurbished A3 flatbed scanner built for busy offices and studios. Its glass measures 297 x 432 mm. Therefore a full A3 sheet or a two-page spread fits in one pass.
Because the lamp is Xenon rather than fluorescent, the scanner wakes instantly. Therefore you lose no time waiting for a warm-up cycle before the first scan.
Epson quotes a colour scan of a Letter page at 300 dpi in 10.2 seconds. Note that this figure is a Letter measurement, not an A4 one.
Epson never published an A4 speed for this model. However, A4 is slightly shorter than Letter, so a like-for-like A4 page will not be slower.
Furthermore, the four-line CCD reads all three colour channels in a single pass. Consequently a colour original takes no longer than a greyscale one.
Two connections come as standard. Specifically, you get USB 2.0 and twin 50-pin SCSI-2 sockets. Also, the rear panel carries a terminator switch and an ID dial.
The option slot sits empty on this model and a blanking plate covers it. However, the Epson EU-81 network card drops straight into it if you want to share the scanner later.
Note: a feeder port is also fitted as standard. Therefore the document feeder can be added at any time.
The platen takes anything up to 297 x 432 mm. Therefore A3, A4, Letter and US Tabloid all sit flat on the glass.
Books and bound reports scan comfortably because the lid lifts clear on tall hinges. Also, a two-page spread fits in a single pass, which halves the handling on catalogue work.
This scanner belongs to the Windows XP era. Specifically, Epson supported Windows 98, NT 4.0, Me, 2000 and XP, and never released a driver beyond them.
Epson has since marked the model End of Support and now offers no driver downloads at all. Therefore plan to run it on a retained XP or 2000 machine, or through a virtual one.
Note: Epson’s own support pages show a long operating-system menu that includes Windows 11. However, no files exist behind those entries for this scanner. We checked.
Three versions of this scanner share one chassis and one optical system. Therefore image quality is identical across all three.
Specifically, the GT-15000 is the plain machine, with USB and SCSI only. Meanwhile the GT-15000n adds the EU-81 network card. Furthermore the GT-15000n Pro adds the card and the 100-sheet duplex feeder.
All three scan at the same speed and to the same resolution. Consequently the choice comes down to how the scanner is connected and how documents are fed.
Our team tests every unit before it ships. Furthermore we check the lamp, the carriage travel and the full width of the glass.
Our team also cleans the platen and the underside of the lid. Finally, our team resets each scanner to factory defaults.

If you are unsure whether this scanner suits your setup, ask us first. Specifically, tell us which operating system you intend to run it on.
Our team answers technical questions directly. Please contact us and we will reply the same working day where we can.
Epson’s own site carries the original documentation. Therefore you can also check the manual at epson.co.uk.
Each scanner ships with a UK power cable. Note that the power supply is built into the scanner, so no separate adapter is needed.
No cables beyond the mains lead are included. Therefore order a USB cable or a SCSI cable separately if you do not already have one.
The network card and the document feeder are not included with this model. However, both are available from us.
Does the Epson GT-15000 scan a full A3 sheet? Yes. Its glass measures 297 x 432 mm, which covers A3 and US Tabloid.
Is the Epson GT-15000 networked? No. The plain Epson GT-15000 has USB and SCSI only. However, the Epson EU-81 card fits its option slot and we sell it separately.
Does the Epson GT-15000 come with a document feeder? No feeder is supplied with the Epson GT-15000. However, the feeder port is fitted, so one can be added later.
Which operating systems run the Epson GT-15000? Windows 98, NT 4.0, Me, 2000 and XP. Note that Epson released nothing newer and now offers no downloads.
