The Epson GT-15000n Pro is a refurbished A3 flatbed scanner. Specifically, it ships with the EU-81 network card and the 100-sheet duplex feeder. Consequently it handles batch work and large originals equally well.
Its glass measures 297 x 432 mm and the feeder takes stacks up to 12 mm thick. Therefore you can scan a bound A3 original, then walk away from a 100-page double-sided batch.
Epson quotes a colour scan of a Letter page at 300 dpi in 10.2 seconds. Note that this figure is a Letter measurement, not an A4 one.
Epson never published an A4 speed for this model. However, A4 is slightly shorter than Letter, so a like-for-like A4 page will not be slower.
With the feeder running, Epson rates the scanner at up to 16 pages per minute. Specifically, the published breakdown is 16 ppm mono and 10 ppm colour, at Letter, 300 dpi, in Draft Mode.
The EU-81 network card is fitted, so the whole workgroup reaches the scanner over 10/100 Ethernet. Meanwhile USB 2.0 and two SCSI-2 sockets stay free for a direct connection.
The feeder plugs into the dedicated port on the rear panel. Consequently nothing competes for the USB or SCSI connection while a batch runs.
Note: Epson’s part code for the network card is B12B808392.
The platen takes anything up to 297 x 432 mm. Therefore A3, A4, Letter and US Tabloid all sit flat.
The feeder holds 100 sheets of 55 gsm paper, up to a 12 mm stack. Furthermore it accepts 50 to 127 gsm stock, from A3 and Ledger down to A5.
Double-sided originals scan in one pass when you tick ADF-Double-sided in EPSON Scan. Consequently a two-sided 50-page report needs one loading, not two.
This scanner belongs to the Windows XP era. Specifically, Epson supported Windows 98, NT 4.0, Me, 2000 and XP, and never released a driver beyond them.
Epson has since marked the model End of Support and now offers no driver downloads at all. Therefore plan to run it on a retained XP or 2000 machine, or through a virtual one.
Note: Epson’s own support pages show a long operating-system menu that includes Windows 11. However, no files exist behind those entries for this scanner. We checked.
Three versions of this scanner share one chassis and one optical system. Therefore image quality is identical across all three.
Specifically, the GT-15000 is the plain machine, with USB and SCSI only. Meanwhile the GT-15000n adds the EU-81 network card. Furthermore this GT-15000n Pro carries that card and the 100-sheet duplex feeder.
All three scan at the same speed and to the same resolution. Consequently the choice comes down to how the scanner is connected and how documents are fed.
Our team tests every unit before it ships. Furthermore we check the lamp, the carriage travel and the full width of the glass.
Our team also cleans the platen and the underside of the lid. Finally, our team resets each scanner to factory defaults.
Read more about us, or see our terms and conditions for the full warranty position.
If you are unsure whether this scanner suits your setup, ask us first. Specifically, tell us which operating system you intend to run it on.
Our team answers technical questions directly. Please contact us and we will reply the same working day where we can.
Epson’s own site carries the original documentation. Therefore you can also check the manual at epson.co.uk.
Each scanner ships with the EU-81 network card fitted, the 100-sheet duplex feeder, and a UK power cable. Note that the power supply is built in, so no adapter is needed.
No data cables are included. Therefore order a USB or SCSI cable separately if you need one.
Note that the feeder itself weighs about 13 kg. Consequently the assembled scanner is a two-person lift.
Because the feeder adds that weight, this item travels on a pallet. Consequently delivery is booked rather than sent by parcel carrier.
