The HP LaserJet P2015 uses a 600 dpi laser engine. HP ProRes 1200 enhances this to deliver 1200 x 1200 dpi fine-line output. Additionally, HP FastRes 1200 provides sharpness for everyday text. HP therefore quotes 1200 dpi effective output in its marketing. However, the true engine resolution is 600 dpi. This is worth knowing when comparing against printers with a native 1200 x 1200 dpi engine.
