This refurbished Datamax Honeywell H-6308 is a six-inch label printer. It prints at 300 dpi and carries the Honeywell badge.
Specifically it suits pallet labels, carton labels and compliance labelling. Furthermore the gear-driven design is built for continuous shift work.
Because the chassis is cast metal, it shrugs off dust and knocks. Therefore it suits a warehouse or a production line rather than a quiet office.
Rated output reaches 8 inches per second, which is 203 mm per second. Therefore a six-inch label leaves the printer in well under a second.
Next, a 32-bit processor at 200 MHz drives that pace. Consequently complex label formats render quickly, so queues do not build during a busy shift.
Note that 300 dpi resolution prints a 3.3 mil barcode cleanly. Specifically, that covers small-part labelling and dense two-dimensional codes.
Four interfaces come fitted: USB, Ethernet, RS232 serial and IEEE 1284 parallel. Therefore the printer drops into almost any existing setup.
Also, two USB host ports accept keyboards, scanners and memory keys. Additionally an SDIO card slot holds extra fonts, graphics and label formats.
Furthermore the serial port runs from 2,400 to 38,400 bps. When you replace an older printer, that range usually avoids rewiring.
Media width runs from 25.4 mm to 170 mm. Therefore the full 162.6 mm print width is usable.
Also, rolls up to 203 mm across fit on a 76 mm core. Additionally fan-fold stock feeds from the rear or the base, so bench layout stays flexible.
Because the sensor adjusts, it reads see-through gaps and black marks. Consequently die-cut labels, tags and continuous stock all run without a sensor swap.
First, a Windows driver covers virtually any Windows program. Furthermore the printer answers DPL, the Datamax Programming Language, over any interface.
Also, resident fonts number nine, with ten scalable typefaces alongside. Additionally the printer accepts True-Type and bitmap downloads.
Barcode support spans Code 39, Code 128, EAN, UPC, PDF417, Data Matrix and QR. Therefore most labelling standards are covered out of the box.
First, four-inch H-Class models print 103.9 mm or 105.7 mm wide. Meanwhile this six-inch model reaches 162.6 mm, so wider pallet and carton labels fit.
Specifically the H-6210 runs at 200 dpi and 10 ips. Furthermore the H-6308 trades two inches per second for the finer 300 dpi head.
Honeywell bought Datamax-O’Neil in 2015. Consequently later units carry a Honeywell badge. However the spec is the same.
Our team strips, cleans and reassembles each printer before it ships. Furthermore we check the printhead, the platen roller and the drive gears.
Our team then runs media through every sensor position. Finally our team resets the printer to factory defaults. Our team then prints multiple labels, confirming every connection, each function and the print quality.
Read more about us, or see our returns, cancellation and warranty terms for the full position.
Note that ribbon width, core size and label gap all affect a printer. Therefore a quick conversation often saves a return.
If you are unsure which configuration suits you, please contact us. Additionally the maker publishes full docs: see Honeywell, who now own Datamax.
Each printer ships with a UK power cable only. Note that ribbons and labels are not supplied.
Also, connection cables are not included, so you can add one at checkout if you need it. Software is not supplied either, because the manufacturer provides it directly.
Because ribbon and label choice depends on your application, we leave it to you. However we are happy to advise if you tell us the job.
Does the Datamax Honeywell H-6308 print thermal transfer and direct thermal? Yes. It runs both, so you choose ribbon or thermal stock per job.
What resolution does it print? 300 dpi. Therefore it handles small text and dense barcodes that 203 dpi printers struggle with.
How wide a label will it take? Media up to 170 mm wide, printing 162.6 mm.
Is Honeywell branding different from Datamax branding? Only the badge differs. Honeywell bought Datamax-O’Neil in 2015. Also, we list the earlier Datamax badge separately.
